My parents have always instilled a love and appreciation for art and literature within our home as I was growing up. My dad purchased 16 gold leafed art books for the family when I was young. Although we looked through the books many times, the pages are still brand new as if he just purchased them yesterday. We would carefully look at each template of art from all different masters such as Monet, Picasso, Chagall, Van Gogh, and my favorite as a child, Bonnard.
My parent’s have this large tapestry-like painting on cloth hanging in their bedroom for the past 20 years plus. It is a conversation piece among the grand-kids. Each can spot something uniquely awe inspiring in this magical painting.
The wild boar brings much attention and wonderment. I often pondered if my ma or pa woke up in the middle of the night to a weird and wild nightmare about a wild blue boar running rampant in the bedroom.
The art is from Bali but has a special place in all of our memories as kids, and now as adults with our own children.
I want to thank my mom and dad for giving me a childhood filled with beauty and freedom to explore the world of art and literature on my own. Nothing was ever forced or demanded of me. I really am fortunate to have them both as wonderful people in my life.
